Whether you want to dance like no one’s watching, shout like no one’s listening, or eat like you’re stomachs not hurting, Monteriggioni is the place for you. First of all, I don’t expect you to know how to pronounce that name (I haven’t mastered it yet either!). And secondly, just being there in the flesh, actually seeing the excitement and joy of these crazy Italians, pretending like they’re actually in that old generation, just makes me laugh.

It is mostly common to reach the castle of Monteriggioni from most of the main Tuscan cities, through Florence-Siena dual-carriageway. At 10km from the Siena take the “Monteriggioni” exit and follow the directions for Monteriggioni.
Helpful tip: I know it seems like really confusing directions, but honestly if your parents know how to read and understand basic signs, you’ll be okay!
